Just a few dozen metres from Les Planches, La Mangeoire - Club Hippique de Deauville offers a chance to discover one of Normandy’s most iconic equestrian settings: Deauville beach on horseback. The club welcomes both beginners and experienced riders and operates all year round.
Which ride should you choose?
The main outing is a ride of around 1 hour on Deauville beach. Depending on the group’s ability, the experience lets you enjoy the wet sand and, for riders with the necessary skills, ride at faster paces. The club also offers lessons and courses during school holidays.
Know before you book
The centre is on rue Reynaldo-Hahn, around 50 m from Les Planches. Rides are advertised for beginners and experienced riders alike, but it is useful to specify your level when booking: supervision and riding pace must remain appropriate for everyone. The immediate proximity of the sea also means that departure times and conditions depend on the weather and the state of the beach.
A little extra
Here, the appeal lies as much in the setting as in the ride: setting off on horseback almost from the heart of Deauville and then reaching its large beach offers a very different experience from a conventional riding centre, with Les Planches and the villas of the Côte Fleurie as a backdrop.
