La Cabane Perdue: the escape room at La Base in Créteil
La Base is a 1,700 m² immersive entertainment complex in Créteil, in the Val-de-Marne, only minutes from Paris. Its escape room, now promoted as La Cabane Perdue (listed on the official website under the scenario title Perdu dans la Forêt), is the venue's newest attraction: a single room built entirely around a hunter's cabin recreated inside the complex.
The story, without spoilers
You're on your way to an evening with friends when your car breaks down in the middle of a remote forest. Night falls, a storm breaks and there's no phone signal. An old cabin appears between the trees: you go inside because you have little choice.
The interior seems deserted, yet everything points to someone having been there recently. You have 60 minutes to restore the power, uncover the cabin's secrets and send a distress signal before its owner returns.
The atmosphere
Think tension and mystery rather than outright horror: carefully designed lighting, continuous soundscapes and intentionally unsettling music. Immersion comes from the physical set, not screens: there are no digital elements in the room.
Confirmed gameplay
- Hands-on physical mechanisms, padlocks and old-fashioned devices
- Searching for clues, solving codes and exploring the set
- Several puzzles can be solved simultaneously, giving every player a role
- Multiple hidden areas to discover as the game progresses
The setting
A full-size wooden cabin with planks, furniture, the smell of wood and secret passages. The cabin was physically built within the complex, not merely decorated, which explains the depth of the spaces discovered during play.
Who can play, and in what size group?
- 2 to 6 players
- Recommended for ages 12 and up, with a supervising adult for younger players
