In Clairvaux-les-Lacs, Inside Battle is a public airsoft field beside the D142 in the Jura. Unlike paintball, players do not fire paintballs: games use replicas firing biodegradable 6 mm pellets, with a more tactical and immersive approach.
What you will experience
The field is arranged for team confrontations, with several areas and playing environments. Scenarios favour strategy, movement, coordination and accuracy rather than simply racing for points. The advertised usual duration of a session is around 2 to 3 hours.
Good to know before you visit
Inside Battle offers equipment hire, allowing visitors to come without their own equipment. The field is on the D142 leaving Clairvaux-les-Lacs towards Barésia-sur-l’Ain. Advance booking is recommended to secure a time slot and available equipment.
The difference from paintball
The experience is indeed airsoft, even though tourist directories sometimes compare it with paintball. The pellets do not mark players, so respect for the rules, fair play and safety instructions are integral to the game.
