With Virginie Romette, mountain guide and ethnobotanist at Nature Ma Compagne, discover the mountain plants of the Guillestrois area, then make your own plant-based balm. The workshop combines an approximately 2-hour botanical walk with 1 hour 30 minutes of preparation at the Riou Vert gîte.
How does the morning unfold?
The first stage is a walk to identify plants and forage responsibly: learning to recognise species, understand their habitats and gather only what respects the plants. The group then heads to the Riou Vert gîte to make a balm to take home. This hands-on stage links the plants observed to their uses.
Where is the meeting point in autumn 2026?
Please note: the starting point changes with the season. In September, participants meet at the Pont de Bramousse car park, at the RD902 junction. From October, the Tourist Office specifies a meeting point in front of the church in Risoul Village, not at the Bramousse car park. The outing begins at 09:00; make your own way to the meeting point.
Which dates and conditions apply?
The next advertised dates after 25 October 2026 are 28 October, 4 November and 11 November 2026, subject to availability. The workshop lasts around 3 hours 30 minutes, for a group of 3 to 10 people, with children from age 6 accompanied by an adult. 2026 prices: €35 for ages 13 and over, €18 for ages 6 to 12. Book by 16:30 the day before at the latest.
What to bring
