From Brusvily, near Dinan, Rance Montgolfière offers a chance to discover the Rance valley between Dinan and the ocean. The operator has several launch sites around Dinan, Plouër-sur-Rance, Trélivan, Pleurtuit and Pleudihen-sur-Rance, allowing it to adapt to the wind direction.
What happens during the experience?
Allow around 3 hours in total, including approximately thirty minutes of preparation and around 1 hour in flight. Passengers watch the balloon being inflated, attend the briefing, fly with the winds, then take part in returning to the ground and packing away before meeting the recovery team.
What time do flights take place?
Flights depart in the morning or at the end of the day, when the air is most stable. The final decision always depends on the weather: the operator generally confirms or postpones the flight around 24 hours before the appointment.
Good to know in 2026
The public price currently displayed is €300 including tax per place. As with any hot-air balloon flight, the exact launch point can change until the last moment and the landing place is never known in advance.
What scenery can you expect?
The area's real appeal is the succession of landscapes between Dinan, the Breton countryside, the steep-sided Rance valley and the opening towards the estuary. Depending on the wind, the flight may provide a very different view of the river and its villages, without any particular passage over a site being guaranteed.
A little something extra
Rance Montgolfière also offers tethered flights for events, with the balloon held to the ground by cables. For a classic introductory flight, it is primarily the combination of river, countryside and proximity to the sea that sets this experience apart from flights over plains.
