ALNM Canoë-Kayak offers two self-guided canoe and kayak descents of the Moselle departing from Pont-Saint-Vincent, about 20 kilometres from Nancy. Equipment is collected at the base, and the team picks paddlers up at the finish: a straightforward way to explore the Moselle's bends without arranging two cars.
Which route should you choose?
The first route reaches Maron after 6 km, taking around two hours on the water. The second continues to Fonds de Monvaux, 9 km away, taking around three hours. Both are self-guided day rentals, without an instructor accompanying you on the water.
Before you visit
Canoe or kayak, life jacket, paddle and waterproof container are provided. The current rental page does not specify minimum ages or swimming requirements, so confirm the conditions for children. In 2026, expect €17 for a single kayak and €27 for a tandem. Payment is by cash, cheque or French holiday vouchers; bank cards are not accepted.
A practical tip
The watersports base is on rue Aristide-Briand, 54550 Pont-Saint-Vincent. A nine-seat van provides the return transfer. Booking is required in April, May, June and September; in July and August, the base opens daily and reservations are recommended.
The extra touch
The club is run entirely by volunteers and also practises white-water and freestyle kayaking: behind the summer rental offering is a genuine FFCK-affiliated club, worth exploring if the trip inspires you to develop your paddling skills.
