In Ajaccio, Bartleby's adopts the English-speaking world's book & coffee shop format on rue Cardinal-Fesch. Opened in August 2025 by Cindy and Ielena, the bookshop-café brings books, drinks and pastries together in one space, where you can come to find something to read or to sit down at a table.
A selection that goes beyond novels
The shelves cater for various audiences and formats, including comics, manga, children's books, graphic novels and books in Corsican or English. On the café side, drinks can be accompanied by pastries, with gluten-free options and plant-based milks also available.
What brings the venue to life
Bartleby's regularly programmes writing workshops, book signings, author events and literary talks. The venue fully embraces its dual role: a bookshop where you can get recommendations and a café where you can take your time, right in the centre of Ajaccio.
