In Caen, Caen Ouistreham Plongée offers introductory scuba dives in a swimming pool at Stade nautique Eugène-Maës, supervised by its federation-qualified instructors. This is the club's first-experience option, before moving on to training or sea dives if desired.
Where does the introductory dive take place?
The first experience is in Caen, not directly at sea. The club runs pool activities on Tuesdays and Fridays from 20:00 to 22:00, outside school holidays. Contact the association to arrange an introductory session.
What about diving at sea?
Sea outings depart from the Centre d’Activités Nautiques in Ouistreham aboard Cipi’One, a boat accommodating 18 divers. These are for divers with the required qualifications and allow exploration of D-Day remains in the Bay of the Seine, among other sites.
An extra detail
After the introductory dive, the club offers a progressive pathway: Level 1 training from age 12, then higher levels, freediving, nitrox and environmental or audiovisual activities.
