In Surzur, near the Rhuys peninsula, Cidrerie Nicol has produced cider and apple juice since 1928. This family-run cider house uses local apple varieties and welcomes visitors to discover and sample its products at the cidery.
What can you taste at Nicol?
The range allows visitors to compare Breton cider styles, from dry to fruity, but the house speciality is Royal Guillevic, made exclusively from Guillevic apples and awarded the Label Rouge quality label. In 2026, the cidery also received two gold medals and one silver medal at the Concours Général Agricole.
What can you discover on site?
The cidery manages around 14 hectares of orchards. Visitors can discuss the apple varieties, juice and cider production, and taste different bottles before deciding whether to buy. More structured guided tours are also organised occasionally, visiting the orchards and production facilities.
Before you visit
In 2026, the shop in Surzur opens Monday to Saturday, 9 am to noon and 2 pm to 6 pm. The tourism office reports accessibility arrangements for disabled visitors. Guided tour dates can vary, so check ahead if that is the main reason for your trip.
The extra touch: tasting Royal Guillevic offers a chance to compare a cider made from one apple variety with more traditional blends of several varieties.
