Departing from Port des Minimes in La Rochelle, or Île de Ré depending on the trip, Fish'ON offers sea-fishing outings led by Antoine Morin, a qualified BPJEPS fishing instructor and guide. The aim is not simply to catch fish: the emphasis is on learning techniques and understanding the marine environment.
From first-timers to experienced anglers
Trips are tailored to the group's ability. Soft and hard lure fishing, jigs, bottom fishing and drifting techniques may be covered depending on conditions and target species. Fishing and safety equipment are provided.
What can you catch near La Rochelle?
Sea bass is one of the main target species, alongside mackerel, meagre, bonito and sea bream according to season and method. The guide also explains how to read a fish finder, spot feeding activity and adapt lure movements.
Before booking
Standard trips range from three to eight hours, with accompanied children welcome from age six. Participants do not need an individual sea-fishing licence for the guided outing.
The extra touch
Departures from La Rochelle or La Flotte offer a way to explore the channels between the mainland and Île de Ré. For visitors, this is an active introduction to the maritime environment, very different from a conventional sightseeing cruise.
