In Plougonvelin, the Bertheaume rock course uses the rocks surrounding the fort and coastline. This seaside via ferrata combines equipped sections, bridges and zip lines with the Iroise Sea below.
A route over the fort's rocks
The activity uses a continuous lifeline and safety equipment supplied on site. The route combines movement over rock, suspended obstacles and zip lines. Its most striking section is a zip line of around 200 metres, almost 40 metres above the sea.
From age 9 and 1.40 m
The course is open from age 9, with a minimum height of 1.40 m. Waist size for the harness must not exceed 105 cm. Closed shoes and clothing that allows easy movement are required.
Good to know before you visit
The rock course operates in season, by reservation. Opening days and departure times vary with the period and weather conditions. Arrive around 15 minutes before the booked time for equipment and briefing.
What distinguishes Bertheaume is the route's real setting: you progress over the rocks of a fortified islet, with long aerial crossings directly above the sea.
