Les monuments de Tours is an Adventure Lab linking several landmarks in the city centre through a GPS treasure hunt. Cathédrale Saint-Gatien serves as a starting reference for a wider route connecting religious heritage, civic architecture and key urban sites.
What is geocaching?
Geocaching is a GPS-guided treasure hunt. In an Adventure Lab, a smartphone guides players to several real places and each stage is validated by an observation or answer, without a physical container to find at every stop.
Is it free?
The public Adventure Lab is free to play with an account and the dedicated app. Stages take place in public urban spaces; any optional paid visits made alongside the game are separate.
Which monuments will you discover?
The route has five stages and notably passes Basilique Saint-Martin, Hôtel Goüin and Cathédrale Saint-Gatien, before continuing to other landmarks in central Tours. Answers collected on the walk then allow players to calculate the location of a bonus cache.
An extra detail
The route combines two levels of play: an accessible digital walk for beginners, followed by a real physical cache for anyone who wants to extend the search.
The Adventure stages are more durable than the bonus cache itself, so check the game's status and instructions before setting off.
