On the other side of the Maine, la Doutre becomes a digital treasure hunt in 5 stages. This Adventure Lab takes you through one of Angers' historic districts, among old houses, narrow streets, religious complexes and views towards the city centre.
What is geocaching?
Geocaching is a GPS-guided treasure hunt. Adventure Lab offers a version without a physical box: your smartphone guides you to specific points, and an observation on site lets you validate each stage.
Is it free?
This public Adventure Lab is free to play with a free account and the dedicated app. No Premium subscription is needed to complete the digital route.
A loop of around an hour
The creator recommends following the 5 stages in order to create a coherent walk of around 1 hour. The route particularly highlights half-timbered houses, religious buildings, townhouses and the banks of the Maine, with Le Quai and the river port as contemporary landmarks.
A little extra
Each stage also provides information to help solve a bonus cache. The route is therefore a good introduction: you start with simple virtual stages before continuing, if you wish, with a search for a physical cache.
The Adventure Lab app remains the reference for the order, questions and locations that are actually active.
