At Les Inventeurs, in Paris's 18th arrondissement, you learn woodworking by completing a practical project. Workshops cater for beginners and those with some DIY experience, combining explanations, learning to use tools and making.
What you make
Adult formats allow you to make a piece of furniture or a useful object: a woven stool, bentwood lamp, serving board or decorative project. Work involves solid wood, plywood or reconstituted boards, depending on the chosen creation.
Techniques you discover
The instructors provide practice in gluing, sanding and wood joints, using hand tools and machines such as a mitre saw, plunge saw, drill-driver, router or trim router. Protective equipment is used according to the operations involved.
Before you choose
Adult workshops generally last 2 to 3 hours, with materials provided, and welcome groups of 6 to 12 participants. The programme specifies the level and project: “Menuiserie niveau 1” and “niveau 2” sessions require different levels of confidence.
For younger participants too
The venue also offers creations suitable for children and parent-child pairs, with minimum ages specific to each workshop. Here, woodworking sits alongside digital fabrication and metalworking, opening the door to hybrid projects.
