Since 1994, Découverte de la Baie has run guided crossings of Mont-Saint-Michel Bay with guides holding the required prefectural accreditation. Its reception point is at the Maison du Guide in Genêts.
A longer crossing following the pilgrims' route
Departures include Bec d’Andaine in Genêts and Saint-Léonard in Vains. The walking round trip covers around 14 km and 6 hours, crossing soft tidal sediment and waterways, observing quicksand and allowing time at the Mont.
A version with a return bus
Another option involves walking approximately 7 km, then returning by road after some free time at the Mont. The whole outing lasts around 6 hours 30 minutes, including the stop and transport.
Before visiting
Booking is strongly recommended. These walks require an appropriate level of fitness; bring a change of clothes, water and whatever equipment the guide specifies.
