The Club de voile Mer et Montagne is a community sailing school based at Port Bijou in Cannes, active since 1950. Its craft include Optimists for younger children, dinghies such as Laser, 420 and 470, and a 6.50 m Golif keelboat.
From what age can you start?
Beginners' and advanced Optimist lessons are available from age 6. Regular sessions take place on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, with increased activity during school holidays except the February holidays.
Experienced instruction
Activities are led by Lydie Vielle, a state-qualified instructor and three-time French champion. Private lessons can also be arranged by appointment.
The club is a local option for learning or improving your sailing on different craft directly from Cannes.
