Opposite the University Palace, Café Brant has hosted Les Mercredis du Brant since 2015, a season of dinner performances dedicated to theatre, poetry, comedy and music. The setting is integral to the experience: performances take place in a grand Art Deco café dating from 1896.
For the September 2026 – June 2027 season, Théâtre Lumière continues the series with productions inspired by Aznavour, Brel, Barbara, Brassens, Gainsbourg, Piaf, Prévert and Vian, depending on the programme.
How does the evening work?
The schedule is clearly structured:
- Dinner at 7 pm.
- Show at 8:30 pm.
- Table service stops during the performance to recreate genuine theatre conditions, with a stage, darkened room and theatrical lighting.
It is not possible to book the show alone.
2026 prices
For several dates in 2026, the complete package is advertised at around €46, covering the performance, a choice of main course, dessert and the drinks included in the package.
Places are limited and performances sell out quickly: reservations are compulsory before the deadline specified for each date.
The extra touch
This isn't entertainment performed in the middle of a noisy restaurant: dinner finishes before the show begins. Café Brant then genuinely becomes a small theatre, making a real difference when listening to music and spoken texts.
