In Toulouse, Les Halles de la Cartoucherie goes far beyond a food hall: the former industrial site contains a large market square, sports facilities, a bookshop, coworking and a cultural programme. Food is still a major attraction, with around 25 food vendors.
Much more than a choice of restaurants
The market square lets you put together a meal from cuisines of Occitanie and beyond, with vegetarian, halal or gluten-free choices depending on the stalls. Group members can order at different counters and eat together in shared areas.
Why come here rather than somewhere else?
You can have lunch and then enjoy climbing, squash, dancing, browsing a bookshop or a show without changing venues. This variety really sets La Cartoucherie apart from markets devoted entirely to food.
Before you visit
In 2026, some stalls serve breakfast from the morning; lunch is mainly available around 11:45 am–2:30 pm, and weekday dinner around 7–10:30 pm. Table reservations are offered for groups of eight or more.
The extra touch: for families or groups of friends with varied interests, everyone can choose an activity after eating, not just their meal.
