In Opio, Golf Opio Valbonne is an 18-hole course designed in 1966 by Donald Harradine, on a 220-hectare estate between Cannes, Grasse and Nice. The course alternates valleys and shaded areas beneath mature trees; a Gallo-Roman aqueduct also crosses the grounds.
Can you play 9 or 18 holes?
Yes. In 2026, the public 18-hole green fee is €145 in high season and €130 in low season. For nine holes, prices are €87 in high season and €78 in low season. High season runs from 28 March to 25 October 2026.
Can you come just to practise?
The driving range measures around 220 m and has 20 TrackMan Range bays, eight of them covered. A bucket of 34 balls costs €7 in 2026. A putting green, pitching green and practice bunker complete the facilities; the practice areas are advertised as open to everyone.
What about beginners?
The academy offers individual and group lessons, courses and supervised rounds. The Golf Découverte programme can include up to 40 hours of lessons in groups of no more than six, with progressive validation towards the Carte Verte golf proficiency certificate.
An extra highlight
Opio Valbonne is not simply somewhere to book a tee time: the TrackMan driving range, short-game areas and academy also make it a destination for practising or starting out, without immediately planning an 18-hole round.
