From Bellême, L’Air du Perche reveals the hills and forests of the Norman Perche from a hot-air balloon. Departures may also take place from La Chapelle-Souëf or Soligny-la-Trappe, depending on conditions and the chosen launch site.
How long does the experience last?
Allow around 3 hours in total, including 1 hour in the air. Passengers help inflate the balloon and pack it away after landing, before sharing a celebratory drink and receiving their certificate.
Can children take part?
Yes, from 6 years old and a minimum height of 1.20 m. Minors must be accompanied. Pregnant women cannot board, and participants must be physically able to enter the basket and manage the landing.
Good to know in 2026
The adult ticket is listed at €270, and the ticket for children under 12 at €220. Flights are available all year round, weather permitting, and tickets remain valid for one year.
What scenery can you expect?
The Perche offers a patchwork of forests, hills, manor houses, stud farms and villages. The operator highlights several hundred residences and manor houses in the region, but no particular overflight can be guaranteed.
The little extra
The Perche is particularly suited to hot-air ballooning because its landscape is so hedged and hilly: forest edges, estates and small roads are easier to appreciate from above than on a conventional road trip.
