On an island in the lower lake of the Bois de Boulogne, a meal at Le Chalet des Îles begins with a short boat crossing from the Porte de la Muette landing stage. That journey across the water is truly part of the experience, separating the restaurant from the bustle of Parisian traffic.
A restaurant inspired by the lake and kitchen garden
The chalet was completely redesigned in 2024 by architect Nicolas Laisné, with terraces arranged around a vegetable garden. Chef Pierre Chomet works with local producers and a menu that changes with the seasons. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.
The extra touch
The bar extends the evening overlooking the lake, with DJ sets on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The shuttle crossing costs €2 for pedestrians and guests, but is free in particular for Navigo pass holders and children under 12.
Le Chalet des Îles is therefore as much about the setting as the food: the little boat ride, terraces and lake views make it feel like a genuine getaway without leaving Paris.
