In Pontault-Combault, OVERLAND offers BattleKart, indoor electric karting where the track, bonuses and obstacles are projected directly onto the floor. Up to 10 players drive simultaneously in a game combining steering, strategy and video-game mechanics.
How does BattleKart work?
The electric karts interact with the projected scenery. Depending on the chosen mode, players can collect bonuses, launch virtual attacks, avoid traps or simply aim to finish ahead of the others. BattleRace, BattleColor and BattleSnake are among the modes offered.
Who can play?
Participants must be at least 1.45 m tall. The concept does not require expert driving skills: using bonuses and understanding the game mode matter as much as the racing line.
How many players can drive together?
A session accommodates up to 10 people at once. For smaller groups, the make-up of the session depends on time slots and how the centre organises play.
Why choose this activity when it rains?
BattleKart takes place entirely indoors. It is therefore largely unaffected by the weather, making it just as suitable for rainy days as for very hot weather.
An extra detail
OVERLAND is a multi-activity complex. BattleKart can be combined with other games on site for a birthday, stag or hen party, or group outing, without additional travel.
BattleKart differs from conventional timed karting through the interaction between the vehicle and a projected world: the track serves a different purpose depending on the game selected.
