Thirteen hectares of green space: Parc de la Toison d’Or, on rue de Colchide in Dijon, is a free municipal park in the Clos de Pouilly district. Once an amusement park and taken over by the city in 1993, it now offers walks, children's games, sport and animal watching.
Attractions or public park today?
The former park's large rides no longer operate. Visitors come for playgrounds, mini-golf, a seasonal merry-go-round, fitness trails, sports courts, a roller-skating track and an animal enclosure, as well as rose gardens and picnic areas. Mini-golf and the merry-go-round may have separate entry arrangements.
Can you swim in the Toison d’Or pool?
No: the park has no advertised swimming pool or bathing basin. The large landscaped lake of roughly one hectare, with a waterfall and ducks, is for enjoyment, not swimming. For a swimming pool in Dijon, look for a dedicated aquatic centre such as Carrousel or the Olympic pool.
