ULM Altitude 44 / Bocage Airlines offers first flights and introductory lessons in Loire-Atlantique from Héric, near Nantes, and Saint-Nazaire. Flights are open from age ten, offering different views of the Nantes countryside or estuary depending on the departure airfield.
Which aircraft should you choose?
At Héric, several types of microlight aircraft are available: fixed-wing, weight-shift trike and autogyro. Advertised introductory flights start at €45 in a trike, €50 in a fixed-wing aircraft and €90 in an autogyro. Introductory fixed-wing piloting sessions are also available.
Two departure locations
The Héric microlight base is approximately 20 minutes from Nantes. The second airfield, near Saint-Nazaire, allows flights towards the estuary and coastline. Aircraft used for introductory flights are described as being equipped with a safety parachute.
The extra touch
Choosing between three types of microlight aircraft allows you to compare very different sensations: an enclosed fixed-wing cabin, a more exposed trike flight or the distinctive behaviour of an autogyro.
