In Barro, Annie Robin opens her pottery studio to beginners keen to discover clay through hand-building or wheel-throwing. A ceramicist specialising in porcelain, she creates pared-back, graphic pieces while offering introductory sessions requiring no previous experience.
What happens in the workshops?
Sessions introduce the basic techniques of hand-building or throwing. Four themed short courses are offered: basic techniques, autumn herbarium, light and transparency, and poetic model.
Regular sessions in 2026-2027
For the 2026-2027 season, workshops are scheduled from 1 September 2026 to 27 June 2027, on Mondays from 17:30 to 19:30, outside school holidays. Participation is free.
The studio's speciality
Annie Robin's own work focuses mainly on porcelain, with decorative and functional collections in understated forms. A studio visit therefore also reveals how a professional ceramicist approaches materials, shapes and decoration beyond the introductory exercise.
What to know before visiting
For the shop, lessons and courses alike, it is best to contact the studio before travelling.
An extra detail is the chance to work in a practising ceramicist's actual studio: the introduction does not take place in a multipurpose room but amid an established creative environment.
