In Saint-Raphaël, Golf de Valescure combines heritage with sport. Founded in 1895 by British residents, it is described as the oldest golf course in the Var and the fifth oldest in France. Its present 18-hole course was shaped in part by British architect Harry Shapland Colt.
A short course demanding accuracy
At 5,019 m and par 68, Valescure favours precision over distance. Narrow fairways, challenging rough, water hazards and small greens reward positioning more than power.
The driving range allows players to warm up before their round, and the club permits buggies, electric trolleys and hand trolleys depending on the day's conditions.
A history closely linked to the Riviera
The extension from nine to eighteen holes was commissioned from Colt from 1909, at the request of Amédée de Guerville. The club still hosts competitions and events today, while retaining a clubhouse with bar, restaurant and pro shop.
In 2026, the course opens from 07:00 and the driving range from 07:15. As opening times may change with the season, check them before an early or late round.
