The Buron de la Combe de la Saure offers a very different experience from a conventional restaurant: you have lunch or dinner in a genuine mountain buron, at an altitude of 1,546 metres, in the hills above Brezons, amid the volcanic landscapes of Cantal.
A small mountain restaurant, by reservation only
The buron deliberately remains intimate, with around 25 seats inside and about thirty on the terrace when the weather allows. Lunch and dinner are served by reservation, in a setting where the landscape and isolation are fully part of the experience.
The cuisine is traditional and rooted in Auvergne, with homemade dishes in the spirit of Cantal's mountain meals.
A seasonal experience dependent on the weather
Buron de la Combe de la Saure is not open all year round. It welcomes visitors mainly from May to mid-October, with opening dependent on weather conditions at altitude.
It is particularly well suited to:
- a day of walking in the Brezons area;
- lovers of Auvergne cuisine;
- those seeking an isolated restaurant in the mountains;
- a gastronomic stop on the roads of the Monts du Cantal.
Before you head up
The buron is in the municipality of Brezons, in Cantal. Booking is necessary and capacity is limited. Payment is by cash or cheque, as bank cards are not accepted. Even in summer, bring clothing suited to the altitude and weather that can change quickly.
