In Marolles, near Lisieux in the Pays d'Auge, Domaine des Déserts is one of Normandy's new vineyards. Sébastien and Claire Fricker, from farming and winegrowing families, planted the first 4.5 hectares of vines in 2023, growing Chenin, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
First Norman wines since 2026
The estate held its first harvest in 2025 and announced sales of its first wines made from Normandy-grown grapes from 1 May 2026, in limited quantities. The shop also sells wines from the family's estate in Saumur: the distinction matters for understanding what is produced in Normandy and what comes from the Loire.
Which tastings can you book?
A tasting of four wines costs €8 per person, while a food-and-wine pairing package is €15. Tasting groups are limited to 16 people, with sessions on the terrace or indoors depending on weather. Vineyard visits and an introduction to winemaking are also available by reservation.
What to know in 2026: the shop is listed as open Tuesday to Saturday, 13:00-19:00. The estate plans to expand its vines and introduce winery tours in 2027.
