Perched at 429 m above sea level, Èze-Village overlooks the Mediterranean from the middle corniche road. The medieval village is explored on foot through a network of narrow lanes, steps and small squares lined with artists' studios, shops and old houses.
What can you see in the village?
The walk leads to Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption church and the Jardin Exotique, laid out among the ruins of the former fortress. This garden, accessible with a separate ticket, contains cacti, agaves, aloes and other succulents while offering expansive coastal views.
What to know before visiting
The village itself can be visited freely, and the hilly terrain involves many slopes and steps. Car parks lie below the village and can be very busy during peak periods. Arriving early in the day is particularly worthwhile for enjoying the lanes.
