A few kilometres from Montpellier, Pro Race Café combines food and motorsport simulation in one venue. The centre has eight professional simulators open to the public, with several racing disciplines including Formula 1, GT, touring cars and rallying.
Take the wheel of a motion simulator
The machines can reproduce sensations of up to 2 G and let drivers race virtually at more than 300 km/h on international circuits. Several simulators can be networked, allowing friends or colleagues to race against each other in real time on the same track.
Equipment associated with professional driver training
The centre says it uses training machines associated with several professional drivers, including Sébastien Loeb, Yvan Muller, Margot Laffite and Olivier Panis. The experience therefore focuses more on driving simulation than on a conventional screen-based video game.
The extra touch
Each week, a particular car and track feature in the Défi Pro Race, with a fastest-lap leaderboard. Championships, Grands Prix and other challenges are also organised from time to time, bringing a real competitive element to the venue.
