In Grasse, the historic Molinard Bastide lets visitors progress from discovering the house's heritage to creating their own perfume. Founded in 1849, Molinard remains a family-owned, independent perfume house and has run public perfume-making workshops since 1994.
Create your fragrance with an expert
Several options are available. The Atelier Classique lasts 1 hour: guided by a perfume expert, participants learn about fragrance structure, work with 90 essences and take home a 50 ml bottle. Shorter, more in-depth and child-friendly options complete the range. Each formula is kept in the house's archives so it can be reordered later.
Explore the Bastide too
The former distillation, production and blending site is now a museum. A free tour lasting around 25 minutes traces the manufacturing process through old machinery, collectibles and historic installations. It can precede the perfume-making workshop.
The real advantage is the continuity between industrial heritage and creativity: first discover how perfumery developed in Grasse, then work with essences yourself to create your own formula.
