Montagne & Rivière offers canyoning around Castellane, between the Verdon and neighbouring valleys, with routes ranging from introductory outings to sporty full days. The company is active in 2026 and welcomes participants at its Castellane base before travelling to the chosen canyon.
Which route should you choose?
- Haut Jabron: introductory half-day, from age 8.
- Saint-Auban: sportier half-day, from age 12.
- Riolan: very aquatic full-day route, around 4 km of descent, from age 14.
- Main Morte: sporty, vertical full-day route, from age 14.
What to know before visiting
Wetsuits and neoprene socks, helmets, harnesses and technical equipment are provided. Jumps are optional on routes where alternatives are possible. The final choice depends on the group's ability, water flow and weather conditions.
A practical tip
The meeting point may be at the Castellane base or directly at the canyon entrance. Some routes, such as Riolan, require around an hour's drive from Castellane and a short vehicle shuttle organised with the group's cars.

For a first outing, Haut Jabron lets you learn the techniques without committing to a full day. Riolan is best if you are mainly looking for swimming, jumps and a very aquatic setting.
