In Seillans, the Deux Sommets de la Pigne walk starts at Saint-Arnoux chapel, approximately 6 km from the village along the D19 towards Bargemon. This loop of about 1 hour 30 minutes, recommended by the Pays de Fayence tourist office, reaches two different viewpoints: the first faces the Estérel and the sea; the second overlooks the hilltop villages and the Pre-Alps.
The actual starting point
Park near Saint-Arnoux chapel (43.628205, 6.608998). Walk back up to the D19, cross carefully and take the Pigne track. A climb of around 30 minutes leads to the pass and its water tank; a 400 m return detour reaches the western summit, at 762 m.
The extra touch
On the first summit, an old lookout recalls the history of wildfire surveillance. The second, marked by a calvary cross, opens up views towards the Siagne valley, the gliding centre and the villages of the Pays de Fayence.
Before setting off
The route is described as a walk without major difficulty, but includes a short rocky climb towards the calvary. Bring grippy footwear, water and sun protection. In summer, always check restrictions on access to the Var's forested massifs due to wildfire risk and download the GPX route supplied by the tourist office.
