Moored at Vieux-Port de Cannes, Plongée Club de Cannes takes certified divers to the bay and îles de Lérins. The area offers a wide range of depths and underwater formations, with sites suited to various levels around Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat.
Which sites can you explore around Cannes?
The club documents La Fouillée, Bateguier, Fourmigue and Bilitis, off Saint-Honorat. Some dives suit all levels, while others go considerably deeper: Enfer de Dante, for instance, starts at around 17 m and can reach 70 m, with a stated minimum of Level 2.
Why dive around the îles de Lérins?
The underwater scenery is highly varied: submerged reefs, walls, caves and heavily colonised areas lie just a few dozen minutes by boat from Cannes. Grotte à Corail features crevices, red coral and large groupers, while Bilitis ranges from 4 to 45 m deep.
How are trips organised?
The Sylpa, a 14 m boat, usually departs twice a day, at 09:00 and 14:00. The club advertises daily opening from April to November, then weekends and weekdays by reservation in low season. Air fills and equipment are available directly aboard.
Can groups come aboard?
Yes. Sylpa carries up to 43 divers. For groups, the centre also opens on request and can arrange private hire depending on the required format.
The added attraction
Departing directly from Vieux-Port makes it easy to combine a stay in Cannes with several very different dives around Lérins, from accessible submerged reefs to much deeper walls.
