Departing from Fréjus, TAKSEA offers a 2-hour-30-minute excursion along the red coves of the Estérel aboard an exploration boat. The trip alternates fast cruising, close approaches to coves and caves, and a stop in a cove.
How does the trip unfold?
The operator describes the excursion in three parts: roughly one third sailing out towards the massif and returning, one third exploring the coastline close to the red rocks, and one third anchored in a cove.
What happens during the stop?
Masks and snorkels are provided for observing underwater life. A drink is also offered during this break, allowing time to enjoy the cove before heading off again.
Can children join?
The trip is advertised for children aged 5 and over. TAKSEA advises against it for women who are more than 3 months pregnant, due to the type of navigation and boat movements.
Something extra
TAKSEA highlights its small-group exploration, using a boat manoeuvrable enough to approach parts of the coast that are difficult for larger vessels to reach.
From Fréjus, this is an easily understood option for a first discovery of the Estérel: 2 hours 30 minutes, one main area explored and a proper anchorage break among the coves.
