In central Tanneron, on Place de la Mairie, L’Oustaou dòu Païs occupies the village's former post office. This local heritage centre houses the tourist information office, a shop selling local products and a free exhibition space devoted to agricultural life in the hills. Panels trace the arrival and cultivation of mimosa, while old tools donated by residents and farmers also tell the story of market gardening and beekeeping. The site helps visitors understand that the yellow hills of winter are also a working landscape, home to mimosa-growing families and eucalyptus producers. A temporary exhibition may extend the visit: in 2026, one display notably commemorates the 60th anniversary of Lac de Saint-Cassien. Craft workshops take place on certain dates. It is not open every day throughout the year: outside busy periods, the centre is open notably on Fridays. Check the tourist office's opening hours before visiting; it is easy to combine the visit with a walk among the mimosas.
