From the village of Tanneron, set off to discover the ridges of the mimosa-covered hills. Longer than a simple walk around the village, this hike crosses hills, mimosa plantations, eucalyptus groves and several hamlets. The route offers views towards Grasse, the hilltop villages inland and the Estérel massif.
What to plan for: approximately 15 km and 5 hours of walking, according to the tourist office. The route starts in the village, heading towards the municipal stadium and Chemin de la Grille, then follows Chemin de Touordam and several DFCI fire-access tracks, among others. Bring suitable walking shoes, water and the official route map. Access to the hills may be restricted depending on fire risk.
When should you go? The mimosa is particularly attractive in winter, generally from January to March, depending on flowering conditions. Outside this period, the route is still worthwhile for its landscapes and views. For a shorter outing, choose the self-guided Tanneron circuit instead, which takes around 1 hour 30 minutes.
