In Tourrettes, l’Atelier KoRoll opens its creative space to people who really want to work with clay. Alain Durenne has practised ceramics here for more than fifteen years, mainly in stoneware and porcelain, specialising in plant-ash glazes made in the studio.
What happens during a course?
Sessions are held in small groups of 3 to 6 people so teaching can be adapted to each person's level. Depending on the format, participants can try wheel throwing, slab building, coiling or moulding. Finished pieces can then be fired at high temperatures.
A proper immersion rather than a quick workshop
KoRoll offers courses of 15 or 30 hours, designed for beginners and more advanced practitioners alike. In summer 2026, the 15-hour course is spread over five mornings and priced at €320, including materials and firing of certain pieces.
The appeal lies in its setting as an active craftsperson's studio: you come to learn a technique and understand the material, not just decorate a ready-made object.
