What makes this festival distinctive?
Since 1987, the Festival de Quatuors à Cordes en Pays de Fayence has brought chamber music and Provençal heritage into dialogue. Rather than using a single large venue, concerts take over the churches of the hilltop villages: distinctive acoustics, architecture and landscapes are part of the performance.
From 11 to 13 September 2026, the 38th edition brought together the Schumann, Danel, Opus 13 and Kairi quartets, among others, with events in Seillans, Saint-Paul-en-Forêt, Mons, Callian, Bagnols-en-Forêt and Tourrettes. Some concerts showcase young performers.
What to know before visiting
The festival moves between villages and churches depending on the concert. Check the time, commune and directions for each performance; plan ahead for parking in the historic centres and book concerts that require it.
