Beside Fayence-Tourrettes airfield, Musée Volant du Pays de Fayence reveals a surprising aspect of local history: gliding and vintage gliders. The Fayence Oldtimers association preserves and restores these aircraft, keeps documents about pilots and manufacturers, and occasionally organises exhibitions or flying displays. A particularly original place for aviation enthusiasts and curious visitors alike.
What visitors appreciate
- Seeing vintage gliders and meeting volunteers passionate about restoring them.
- Connecting these aircraft with the aeronautical history of Pays de Fayence.
- Depending on the programme, enjoying special days devoted to aviation heritage.
Good to know before you visit
Admission to visits and exhibitions is advertised as free. Visitors are welcomed in particular on Saturday mornings, with visits also possible by appointment: contact the association to check access to the hangar before visiting. Discovery flights in a vintage glider are separate from the visit and reserved for members under the association's conditions. The event calendar may change in 2027.
