In Callian, Espace Édouard Goerg occupies a small 19th-century château with romantic turrets, where the French Expressionist painter and printmaker lived from 1957 until his death in 1969. Visitors discover his world through oil paintings, pen drawings and etchings. The venue also serves as a tourist information office.
A little something extra
The visit offers a striking contrast between the delicate architecture of the residence and the intensity of Goerg's work. Elected to the Académie des beaux-arts in 1965, the painter remains closely connected with Callian.
