From a viewpoint overlooking the hills of the Pays de Fayence, this guided tour of Montauroux tells the story of the hilltop village, its old defences and religious buildings. The fortress remains and Christian Dior's influence on the local heritage are the main threads running through the walk.
Why go with a guide?
The walk passes through the small squares of the centre and explores the church's altarpieces and the remarkable Saint-Barthélemy chapel, donated to the municipality by Christian Dior. A separate guided tour devoted exclusively to the chapel's painted woodwork is also available: the content and interior access should be confirmed when booking.
Meeting point
The tour starts outside the tourist information office, place du Clos. In 2026, the office schedules tours on Tuesday mornings by reservation, at €5 per adult, free for minors, with a minimum of four participants. The exact time is given on registration. The streets are steep; wear suitable footwear.
